The second look: poetry of the inconspicuous

The works of subjective.photography are rooted in the immediate nature of the photographer's home. The familiar surroundings become the studio: light in the fog, a leaf on damp moss, traces in the ground, or the fine structures of a spiderweb take center stage.

The works arise from careful observation and a calm eye for the understated, the inconspicuous. The focus is on motifs that hardly impose themselves on passersby.

Inspirations come from, among others, Eduard Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston, and Ansel Adams. Otto Steinert's concept of subjective photography is also essential: the focus is not on pure documentation, but on personal perception and its translation into a unique visual language.

Pictorialist approaches also play a role. Blurred lines, soft transitions, and atmospheric density create a space between photography and painting. Subdued colors enhance the calm, meditative effect of the images.

subjective.photography sees itself as a brand. The focus is on the visual language, not on the person behind it. The works depict familiar landscapes or objects in a reduced form, drawing attention to details, structures, and traces.

The photographs don't reveal their full effect at first glance. They open a dialogue with nature, art, and one's own perception.

Selected works can be produced as fine art prints upon request.
