In these images, I'm interested in how landscape reveals itself as a layered entity. Fields, ice sheets, and slopes consist of lines, deposits, and incisions that resemble cross-sections through fabric or sediment.
Sometimes these layers are created by humans—furrows, paths, traces of cultivation—while other times they arise from water, frost, or time. The crucial moment is when the surface is no longer simply "on top," but can be read like a cross-section: as a superimposition of interventions, deposits, and traces that tell the story of a body from the inside out.
